Come Check out our Library!

Please come and enjoy our beautiful McLandress Library, which is located behind the Burris Gathering Space. Check out a book of Lenten devotions, browse our newest acquisitions, or just grab a comfy chair to read and enjoy the space.

You can visit the church library whenever the church is open. The library offers a variety of resources for both children and adults. We have an extensive collection of books on Bible Study, prayer, beliefs, worship, church history, as well as contemporary issues in Christian life.

Checking out books is easy and low-tech. Instructions for how to check out a book are posted in the library. Our library catalog is online and can be accessed from anywhere by clicking this link.

For those who are looking for something other than a study for the devotional time, try lectio divina. Lectio Divina or Divine Reading is a spiritual practice that focuses on the reading, meditation, prayer and contemplation of biblical texts. Unlike a Bible study, it is a way of reading scripture devotionally in order to foster a deeper relationship with God. For more information, contact Deborah Conner at dconner@dcpc.org. You can sign up for this Lectio Divina class by using the link below for the Wednesday night study/devotional.

This week's dinner is Caesar salad, lasagna, garlic bread, fruit salad, broccoli and brownies. We always have vegetarian and gluten-free options, as well as child-friendly alternatives.

Lenten Dinners and Devotionals Join members and friends of DCPC on Wednesdays in Lent for dinner and/or devotionals, February 25th through March 25th. The buffet line opens at 5:45 and closes by 6:45. The devotionals are led by the pastors and they are from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., also in the Congregation House.

We are studying “An Unlikely Lent: the extraordinary people of the Easter story” by Rachel Billups. This study is led by all of the pastors and includes a contemplative, lectio divina track (see below). The cost for dinner is: Free for children under 3, $5 for children 3 through 5th grade, and $10 for anyone in 6th grade or beyond. $30 family maximum. Click the button above or call the church office to sign up. You need to sign up for the dinner and/or the devotional separately.
