Training Overview:
This training series will include a one-hour overview of integrated behavioral health (IBH), which is open to all members of the health center care team. Providers and staff of integrated behavioral health programs will learn and practice skills to advance IBH in their practice. A description of these two opportunities and links to register can be found below.
IBH Overview for the Care team -Tuesday, May 12, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. EDT
Nick Szubiak will lead a one-hour overview of integrated behavioral health (IBH) in the primary care setting. The presentation will review models of integration, roles in the integrated care team, and patient-centered care. This training is open to any health center staff who want to learn more about IBH. This training will be recorded and the recording shared with those who register.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based communication style which aims to help providers engage patients in conversations about behavior change. Motivational Interviewing challenges the practitioner to suspend his/her drive to direct, advise, and confront. This workshop is ideal for anyone who performs direct patient care, and who frequently engage in conversations with patients about changing their behavior (managing diabetes, quitting smoking, reducing alcohol use, adhering to medication as prescribed, etc.). Decades of research have demonstrated the effectiveness of MI as an evidence-based intervention to compassionately guide the behavior-change process. Join this workshop to learn practical MI tools that can support day-to-day patient care.

Training Overview:
The Quality Improvement (QI) Boot Camp is geared towards any health center staff that support quality improvement, including both clinical and administrative staff. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss and practice key QI principles including the Model for Improvement, PDSA process, SMART goals, Root Cause Analysis, process flow diagrams, and quality measures. We will apply the concepts learned to real-life case studies through hands-on group exercises.

NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Training

Training Overview:
This 2.5-day intensive will give participants essential knowledge and skills to support
new PCMH 2017 standards and earn NCQA PCMH “Certified Content Expert” designation. For those who do not intend to pursue certification, the training is extremely valuable for implementing PCMH, earning PCMH 2017 recognition and sustaining PCMH status through annual reporting.
This training is being offered to DCPCA, MACHC and WVPCA members at a greatly-reduced cost of only $200 per person.

The NCCRT partnered with the American Association of Medical Assistants to develop a new CEU course on improving colorectal cancer screening rates for medical assistants:
