Training Overview: DCPCA is offering a tobacco cessation training in partnership with BreatheDC, Inc. that is designed to equip health care professionals with evidence-based skills to treat and care for patients with tobacco dependence. The goals for this training are for participants to 1) understand the use and history of the Ask, Advise and Refer model 2) be able to identify where patients and clients are in the quitting process, 3) address tobacco use in various communities 4) identify useful motivational tools to encourage quitting and 5) identify resources to assist patients and clients seeking help to quit smoking.

Participants will learn additional tools in the progress note that help document the note more efficiently in-browser version of eCW. After this training, you will have a better understanding of the Office Visit Screen and how to document in different sections of the progress note. This includes how to document the note by using templates, order sets, Right Chart Panel, and eHX/CRISP. Participants will learn the basics of the patient portal, referral, orders, alerts, telephone encounters, actions, and the various components of scheduling appointments and web-enabling patients.

Training Overview: The Quality Improvement (QI) Boot Camp is geared towards any health center staff that support quality improvement, including both clinical and administrative staff. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss and practice key QI principles including the Model for Improvement, PDSA process, SMART goals, Root Cause Analysis, process flow diagrams, and quality measures. We will apply the concepts learned to real-life case studies through hands-on group exercises.
Who Should Attend: Any health center staff members that support quality improvement, including both clinical and administrative staff; members of QI teams.
