Conducting Culturally-Competent Nutrition Education for Patients Training: Thursday, August 16, 2018

T
hank you to the attendees who participated in the the Conducting Culturally-Competent Nutrition Education for Patients Training on Thursday, August 16, 2018.
The focus of this training was on the Ethiopian patient community as a case study. Attendees learned how to customize nutrition education to accommodate their patient’s existing dietary habits. In addition, attendees walked away with a better understanding of how to best work with their patie
nts and resources to support their efforts.
DCPCA would like to thank our facilitators, Nancy Chapman and Stephanie Johnson from Advocates for Better Children's Diets (ABCD) for conducting a very informative training. We also thank Sean Sullivan and Community of Hope for hosting us at their facility!

Training Overview
: The Quality Improvement (QI) Boot Camp is geared towards any health center staff that support quality improvement, including both clinical and administrative staff. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss key QI principles including the Model for Improvement, PDSA process, SMART goals, and quality measures. We will apply the concepts learned to real-life case studies through hands-on group exercises.
