DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AWARENESS MONTH 2018!
Each March, the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities ( NACDD ), in partnership with Association for University Centers on Disabilities ( AUCD ) and National Disabilities Rights Network ( NDRN ), creates a social media campaign to highlight the many ways in which people with and without developmental disabilities come together to form strong, diverse communities.

The campaign seeks to raise awareness about the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in all facets of community life, as well as awareness to the barriers that people with disabilities still sometimes face in connecting to the communities in which they live.

We want to use this campaign to showcase the excellent work that the DD Councils, organizations and individuals are doing to improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities. If you have resources or materials that you think should be included and shared with this campaign, please send them to Deanna Hartzman, NACDD Communications Specialist, at dhartzman@nacdd.org .

See Me As Your Coworker!

This week, our theme is "See Me As Your Coworker," where our focus is on integrated employment, accessible workplaces and fair wages. Companies and organizations all over the world are making integrated employment for people with disabilities an every day dream come true. Share stories of people with disabilities in their workplace, resources on finding employment and toolkits for employers looking for ways to make their workplace more accessible.

For more information about these topics and resources to share during this month, visit nacdd.org/ddam. Images to share across social media and throughout your campaign are also available on the campaign webpage.

If you have any questions or concerns about the campaign, feel free to contact Deanna Hartzman at dhartzman@nacdd.org or (202) 506-5813.
