Governor Carney Issues Guidance for Churches, Houses of Worship

Monday, May 18: Governor Carney issued updated guidance for churches and other houses of worship in Delaware. The guidance encourages virtual services, but expands the ability for churches and other houses of worship to conduct in-person services with restrictions:

Gatherings must be limited to 30 percent of stated fire code occupancy.
Strict social distancing must be maintained.
High-risk Delawareans, including those over 65-years-old, and anyone who is sick should not attend in-person services.
Anyone 13-years-old or older must wear a face covering. Children 2-years-old and younger should not wear a face covering due to risk of suffocation.

Governor Carne y and Secretary Bunting Announce Working Groups to Plan Safe Return to School Buildings

Monday, May 18: Governor Carney and Secretary of Education Susan Bunting announced a public strategy to plan for the safe reopening of Delaware school buildings. Three COVID-19 School Reopening Working Groups will advise the Delaware Department of Education, Delaware school districts and charter schools on ways to safely and effectively reopen Delaware school buildings.

Work Group meetings will be posted on the Public Meeting Calendar. The first virtual meeting is on Thursday, May 21 at 2:00 p.m. Click here for more details.
