[ VIDEO ] Governor Carney Issues Stay-At-Home Order and Closure of All Non-Essential Businesses
Sunday, March 22:  Governor Carney issued two important orders that Delawareans need to know about:
  1. All non-essential businesses Delaware are ordered to close.
  2. All Delawareans are to stay at home whenever possible, subject to Governor Carney’s stay-at-home order issued Sunday night.

The orders go into effect at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 . They will remain in effect until May 15 or until the public health threat is eliminated.

Governor Carney Issues Closure of Delaware Beaches 

Saturday, March 21 : Governor Carney issued a third modification to his emergency declaration, which prohibits the public from accessing the beach except to exercise or walk their dogs where dogs are permitted. Local officials may choose to enact tighter restrictions. 
 
These modifications went into effect at 5:00 p.m., March 21, and will last until May 15, or until the public health threat of COVID-19 has been eliminated.
DelDOT Announces DMV Operational Changes 

Saturday, March 21: The Delaware Department of Transportation announced that effective Monday, March 23, 2020, all four DMV locations will go to kiosk, drive-through and emergency appointment only.
  • Dealer paperwork can be dropped off for processing and picked up when notified.
  • Inspection lanes will remain open as no personal interaction is required, and the drive through windows at each location will have additional staff working to process DMV-related transactions.
  • At no time will there be more than 10 people permitted in DMV lobbies.
