Delaware Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP)

Inaugural Symposium 2025

"Creating Age-Friendly 4M Systems

Through Academic & Community Collaboration"

Helping Prepare Delaware’s Health Community for Serving Older Adults

An elderly person holding a cane with a younger hand offering support_ symbolizing assistance and stability for senior citizens.

The Delaware 65 and up population is projected to increase by more than 41% by 2040, and the 85 and older population is expected to more than double. Rural, Sussex County plays a key role in this trend, cited by USAFacts as the most affected.

Join us for a half day to help chart a path for preparing and growing the workforce with individuals who possess the special skills needed to best meet the needs of this rapidly growing segment of Delaware. Addressing the whole-person needs of older adults requires many considerations; their physical and cognitive abilities, safety concerns, personal priorities, vision and hearing, and more. Spend time with colleagues and experts to prioritize these considerations and any impact they may have on your organization's service delivery.

Whether you are a student, an administrator, a clinician, or caregiver, come share your perspectives about the education and training needed to enhance our Diamond State workforce!
