February 4, 2021
Career and Technical Education Month®, or CTE Month, is a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs. Use these activities and resources to engage your students and participate in DECA's Advocacy Campaign.
ACTE Resources
  • CTE Month Portal - Filled with templates and how-to guides, ACTE's CTE Month portal hosts many of the tools your members will need to plan activities. Members can also learn more about CTE, download state profiles, access virtual video backgrounds and more.

  • Advocacy Toolkit - ACTE has developed a wide variety of tools to assist you in your advocacy activities, keep you informed and promote ongoing support for CTE. The tools provide step-by-step directions and examples that will help you reach out to policymakers at the local, state and federal levels, as well as your community and the media.

  • NASA HUNCH Student Video Challenge - ACTE and NASA HUNCH are hosting an "Advancing Space Exploration through Manufacturing" student video challenge open to all students participating in a CTE program.
DECA Resources
  • CTE Month Activity Ideas - We all know the importance of marketing DECA to recruit new members, but CTE Month is your chance to take your chapter’s marketing and advocacy efforts to the next level! Read on for virtual and hybrid ideas.

  • Quick How-to Guide for DECA Advocacy - To help students with their advocacy efforts, the Executive Officer Team has created a quick “how-to guide” for advocacy! This guide shows you the most current DECA information (including a one-page fact sheet) and breaks it down so that it easy to understand and share while advocating.

  • Tell Your DECA Story - Although there are many ways to become involved, the best way to connect with your local legislators and community leaders is to share your DECA Story.
