Free Financial Literacy Month Activity
To help celebrate Financial Literacy Month in April, the SIFMA Foundation is offering a non-competitive DECA Stock Market Game beginning on April 5, and continuing through June 4, 2021. The Stock Market Game is the perfect tool to help your students build a fundamental understanding of investing while providing them with real-world skills practice.

Registration is free for DECA members and now open! DECA advisors must register their students to participate in the session. The top performers will be recognized on social media and DECA Direct Online.
SIFMA Foundation Sustainability Influencer Series

The SIFMA Foundation Sustainability Influencer Series aims to bring together leaders in environmental conservation, social activism and youth engagement to discuss our shared responsibility to the global community and how our investment choices can be a catalyst for positive change.
The Blue Economy with Philippe Cousteau Jr.
April 8 at 11 am ET/ 8 am PT

Philippe Cousteau Jr. is the grandson of legendary explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau, an author, social entrepreneur, and award-winning TV host and producer. He recently hosted The Travel Channel’s Caribbean Pirate Treasure with his wife Ashlan. Cousteau founded EarthEcho International, an environmental education organization that inspires young people to act now for a sustainable future.
PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
This classroom connection will provide instructional resources to introduce the following National Curriculum Standards:

  • Track business environment changes that impact business financial results
  • Explain causes of stock price fluctuations
  • Manage investment portfolio
  • Discuss the nature of investment risk
  • Explain factors to consider and strategies for selecting investments
  • Obtain investment information from online sources and publications
