Great Start to 2022-2023

We are so proud of our strong start so far this year.  WIth a lot of new routines, schedules, traffic shifts, bus adjustments, and leadership transitions - DECA PREP parents didn't miss a beat and have been the key support for pulling off such a smooth beginning!

Quick Reminders

Bussing has been a shared hardship for everyone this year.  We are diligently working daily to make sure all of our families have their needed transportation.

At this point most of our families have been routed - but for those who still need a bus, please contact:

First Student (937) 813-1570 ext. 201

Excused Absences This is a reminder - If your student is absent for any reason, medical or not - in order to be excused, they must have a note.

  • If it was medical - A doctors' note is required
  • All other absences need a parent/guardian signed note.
Early Dismissal

Early Dismissal ends everyday at 2:00pm.

All pickups after 2:00 have to wait until school lets out.

Reminders:

  • Contact the front office for an early dismissal
  • Teachers are not allowed to dismiss early
  • And don't forget your ID to get through the foyer into the office.  Your student's safety is our #1 concern

August Highlights

Teacher Spotlight:

We are highlighting Hannah Fleming as she spearheaded the "Picmykid" app and now our car pick up is running smoothly.

Hannah finds a way to help in all kinds of scenarios.  She helps us with technology, filming, pictures, and dismissal year after year.  Our pick up line was a  huge task to undertake and her efforts literally impacted the entire school for the better.

Thanks Hannah we appreciate your work and dedication to dismissal!

Full School attendance to our first Harambee brought a great energy back to the event! Shout out to HU as 3rd grade won the spirit award!

4th Grade - A select few 4th grade students have been selected to be part of the Principals' Cabinet and will be given the opportunity to have a voice for DECA PREP.

3rd Grade - Third grade has been selected to be our DECA PREP Council. They will learn leadership skills and decision making as they help the school.

2nd Grade -Morning Meetings have been consistent and critical in 2nd grade for setting the day's tone. It's a great way to get the day going well and 2nd grade has been knockin' it out of the park.

1st Grade - First grade has been finding joy as they have been working on community and consistency in their routines and expectations.

Kindergarten -Spotlight Dana Franks who had her class make Butter and learn about solubility. She plans to have a science lesson every week!
