Spotlight on Chester Township & SRC Volunteer

Cynthia Dreeman Meyer

Cynthia has been volunteering in Chester Township since 2003, when she launched the first Festival of Trees to support a future senior community center. What began as a three-day display of 32 trees at the firehouse has grown into an eight-day celebration with more than 100 trees, visits with Santa, and—since 2024—the site of the Township’s annual Tree Lighting at the renovated Highlands Ridge Park Barn. Cynthia joined the Agricultural Advisory Committee in 2018, became chair in 2019, and helped guide updates to local Site Plan and Right-to-Farm ordinances. She has served on the Zoning Board since 2022. For 25 years, Cynthia has also brought music to local families through her preschool music and movement studio, partnering with Township and Borough recreation departments on programs like Music in the Park and Drumming on Main Street. Cynthia says she loves Chester’s natural beauty, strong community spirit, and the way residents support one another. “I volunteer because that’s what community is all about. Volunteering provides connection and a chance to make a positive difference. I encourage everyone to get involved in whatever cause calls to you!”
