DEFENSE OF LEARNING

Ballyshannon Middle School

Eighth grade students at Ballyshannon presented a new pilot program called Defense of Learning before graduating from middle school to high school. The students presentations were tied to the Boone County Portrait of a Graduate in the areas of Communication and Collaboration.

Additionally, they chose 1-2 Transference artifacts for either communication or collaboration. One class of either 6th or 7th graders, the presenter's parents, an administrator and one or more of their teachers were there to watch and learn

because this years 7th graders are next years 8th graders and they will be working on their on Defense of Learning presentation.

Ballyshannon partnered with Shelby East Middle School this year for this new pilot program.
