I picked up the book “Data-Driven DEI: The Tools and Metrics You Need to Measure, Analyze, and Improve Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” by Dr. Randall Pinkett last October when I attended the annual conference hosted by the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Pinkett's scientific and quantitative approaches to analyzing the necessity of the DEI initiative within organizations not only confirmed what I have always believed—that the United States' greatest strength comes from the fabric of the population it has assembled—but also resonated with the mission of the company I co-founded decades ago: forging communications between people from different languages and cultures. Interestingly, Dr. Pinkett was the winner of the reality show "The Apprentice" before the host turned to politics.

We received our first termination of contract from a federal client on Jan. 23, 2025 when the DEI office was eliminated based on the latest executive order. Since then, the bad news keeps piling up, clients we have worked with for years lost their government jobs, international NGO lost its primary funding, and programs were shut down due to government efficiency. I told myself, it’s depressing to listen to news these days until I watched 60 minutes last weekend with this uplifting story that confirms empathy is still the core of what we have in common albeit the difference we have (America's Own | Sunday on 60 Minutes - CBS News).

As a language services provider, we thrive on the diversity of the populations we serve and are enthusiastic about the efficiencies that technology can introduce us to. We believe that DEI is essential for our current and future growth, and we are deeply committed to its principles.

Thanks to all the linguists who have contributed to our growth over the years. With the support from our clients and allies, we plan to keep our DEI initiative alive and here is our pledge!

Sincerely,
