Scheduled for Thursday, February 12th, we'll meet with legislators in Olympia to urge them to prioritize digital equity funding during the 2026 session. Action Requested: Digital Equity Advocacy

The bipartisan, bicameral Digital Skills for Today’s Workforce Act has just been reintroduced in Congress. This legislation would bring new federal resources to states — including Washington — to expand digital skills training for workers facing barriers to employment, and incumbent workers who need upskilling. You can sign on to support and should only take 2 minutes.

Technology Matching Fund Grants - Due January 13

Digital equity grants aim to increase internet access and adoption through:

Digital navigator services: Provide one-on-one or small group, just-in-time assistance.
Digital literacy classes/workshops: Provide digital literacy skills training to new technology users.
Devices and technical support: Provide devices (for example: laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, desktop computers, smartphones, assistive technology) and the technical training or support needed to use them effectively.
Internet connectivity: Provide internet to low-income Seattle residents by expanding WiFi, Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) access, or another means (for example: hotspots, routers, SIM cards, or WiFi access points).

Air-Line A Modern Home Phone Solution

CenturyLink is rolling out its new home phone service, which delivers Lumen’s Connected Voice digital phone service over a smart Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) called Air-Line. Air-Line does not require a copper telephone line or broadband internet connection. Air-Line is available to customers in eligible areas.

With the holiday season fully upon us, many of us are considering a new electronic device. Whether it be Black Friday, Cyber Monday or chasing the latest trend, the ease and convenience of acquiring new technology means more purchases of electronics during this time of year.

Along with that new technology comes the question; what do you do with the old?

At The Seattle Public Library, Digital Equity is promoted in a variety of ways, including access to Wi-Fi and digital devices, provision of online resources, and high quality programming where patrons can increase their digital literacy skills for use in all sorts of arenas.

The National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) is thrilled to share the incredible achievements detailed in the New York Digital Inclusion Fund (NYDIF) Innovation Grant Final Report! The NYDIF has fueled groundbreaking work in digital inclusion across New York State through partnerships, creative design, and a dedication to excellence in service delivery.

AI is becoming deeply woven into our daily lives, influencing the way we learn and work. It’s taking traditional automation to the next level, enhancing output, optimizing workflows, and unlocking new insights across all industries.

The 2024 American Community Survey (ACS) shows essentially no change in wireline broadband adoption between 2023 and 2024 and just a 1-point increase in the share of households with broadband of any type.
