Dean's Office Visit - 12/6/22

The Dean's office will be visiting the Division on Tuesday, December 6th from 2-3 PM. It is important to have as many people on-site as we can that day.

ImmunoTEX End of the Year Winter Social

Scientist Solutions Vendor Show - 12/13/22

There will be a vendor show in the 505 Conference Room on 12/13 from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM. Food will be provided. Register by December 9.

ZSFG Annual Clothing Drive

The Division is housing a collection bin in the 6th floor Oval Office for the ZSFG DOM Clothing Drive. The bin will be there until December 16th.

Please share donations of clean shoes, pants, sweaters, sweatshirts, and jackets. Gender-neutral and masculine clothing are especially needed.

Awards and Publications

Alan Hsieh received first prize in the Western University Student Technology and Research Symposium for his talk "Transcriptional Profiling of Germline-Encoded, Mycolyl-Reactive Cells in Previously Mycobacterium tuberculosis-Exposed Peruvians".

Rachel Rutishauser has received an award from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for "Assessing HIV-specific CD8+ T cell responses in vaccine studies".

Sara Suliman's first NIH R01 grant application got an outstanding score and highly laudatory comments from reviewers.

Shoshana Zha recently published findings on the early cell to cell spread of M.tuberculosis after aerosol infection, and the influence of the M. tuberculosis strain on cell recruitment and infection - MBio

DEM Alums

Former Ernst Lab member, Beth Chang is a PhD student at Duke, where she is rotating in two TB research labs. One lab recently published a landmark paper on the importance of genetic variation in M. tuberculosis on a clinical outcome of TB in humans.
