DEM Annual Safety Meeting

The 2022-2023 DEM Seminar Series will resume on Monday, September 12 and will be held each Monday from 12:00pm - 1:00pm in a hybrid format via Zoom and in the Building 3, Room 505 Conference Room. Our first meeting will be the Annual Safety Meeting, presented by the DEM Lab Managers.This meeting is an all hands, meaning all DEM members are expected to attend.


You can view upcoming series speakers in the 2022-2023 Speaker List which is also available in the righthand menu of the Snapshot each week under "Division Links."

Incubator 2 Cleaning, Friday 9/9

Incubator 2 in P2 in P2 Room 623 is being cleaned on Friday, 9/9 at 6AM. Please remove all cultures by the end of the day on Thursday, 9/8. Failure to move your cultures may result in their disposal. If you have any questions, please reach out to Xavier.

UCSF Flu Vaccines

We are approaching flu vaccine season and UCSF Occupational Health has set-up their 2022 vaccine schedule. UCSF Occupational Health will be providing flu vaccines at ZSFG:

 

1001 Potrero Avenue

Building 5, Room TBD (will update room when more info available)

Monday, Wednesday, Friday

7:30am – 3:30pm

September 12 – September 30

 

Please bring your UCSF ID badge.

 

If you receive a flu shot outside of UCSF, please upload the flu vaccine record to the Occupational Health online portal at: https://ohsportal.ucsfmedicalcenter.org/ (VPN access required).

2022 DEM Safety Manual and Emergency Action Plan

A big thank you to Vanessa York for updating the Emergency Action Plan and DEM Safety Manual for 2022. Please take the time to read these documents as they contain important information regarding our policies and procedures.


In the coming weeks your lab manager will ask for your signature to verify you have read this information.

UCSF COVID-19 Policy Updates

Be vigilant about masking at work, unless you are in a room by yourself. At no time should you be eating or drinking together inside.


Visitors are required to be fully vaccinated. If they are not they will be required to have a negative COVID test before entering any building on the ZSFG campus. 


Staff are encouraged to obtain COVID testing if they have any symptoms, exposure or concerns regarding COVID. Staff can obtain COVID testing at the OHS employee testing tent in the parking lot by Avon Breast Center, Monday-Sunday from 6:30am-4:30pm (no appointment required). As UCSF employees, you can also use the Color vending machine in Building 9.
