Volunteering During the Surge

We wanted to give a shout out to Mikias for volunteering in the UCSF Clinical Labs during the recent surge.

He processed patient samples, going above and beyond his obligations to help our community. This was a meaningful and very selfless act. Thank you for your hard work!

Honors and Awards

Peter Hunt has been elected to the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI). The ASCI will formally recognize and induct new members to the Society on Friday, April 8 at the ASCI Dinner and New Member Induction Ceremony during the 2022 AAP/ASCI/APSA Joint Meeting.

Changes to the UCSF Daily Screener Tool

If your Daily Screener is not reset, then it likely means you have not completed COVID Clearance Process...please do not ignore it.

If you have had COVID in the past 90 days, your testing process is different.

Asymptomatic testing is not recommended (Color and MyChart Self Scheduling are suspended)
Schedule symptomatic testing in coordination with COVID Response Team
To distinguish the new infection from viral gene fragments.

UCSF Color Testing Machine at ZSFG

Color Testing bending machine is now located in the Building 9 Lobby for UCSF staff ( will need a UCSF ID badge to access it).

UCSF Occupational Health is managing this initiative. Refer to the https://coronavirus.ucsf.edu/testing website for guidance/questions.

Wear your N95 Mask in DEM

To ensure an extra level of protection, we are highly encouraging everyone to wear an N95 while working on site. N95 masks are available for pick-up in the DEM Oval Office (Room 601).
