DEMOCRATIC LEADERS COALESSE BEHIND WEITZMAN FOR CONTROLLER
Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, State Senator Toni Atkins and State Building Trades Council Among Wide-Ranging Group Backing Dan Weitzman for CDP Controller
SACRAMENTO, CA- Continuing his avalanche of support from esteemed California leaders and progressive organizations, today longtime progressive activist and Democratic fundraiser Dan Weitzman scored a series of endorsements, including from California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, and the State Building and Construction Trades Council of California.
Weitzman also received the support of State Senator and Speaker Emeritus Toni Atkins, CA Board of Equalization Chair Fiona Ma, and State Senator Ben Hueso.
Upon receiving their support, Weitzman released the following statement:
"I am incredibly honored to have the support of many of our state's most prominent progressive leaders. Both the Lieutenant Governor and Speaker Rendon have demonstrated how to effectively champion bold, progressive ideas throughout the state and are some of California's most esteemed Democratic leaders. Senator Atkins and BOE Chair Ma are additionally courageous, battle-tested visionaries and giants in the Democratic Party.
