21 January 2022
Greetings!

Peace and Greetings to you!

We continue to live in this world of disruption, as we mark the two-year mark of Covid first being exposed in the United States. And as a community of faith, we continue to do our part in the effort to help stop the spread of this virus.

While this was a painful and difficult decision that we had to make, we continually monitor the circumstances that we are in and know that we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of those in our congregation. As the city imposes a “new” mask mandate going into effect, at least until March 1, 2022, I am asking that we all adhere to the guidelines along with taking all the safety measures in your daily comings and goings, so we can once again have the opportunity of being back in person with one another.

I invite you again to take a moment a read the letter below, regarding the protocol we are following during this period. As always, we will continue to keep you updated on what has and will be implemented as we reassess the life of our church, not only in respect to worship, but with our activities and programming in the days and weeks ahead.

In the meantime, join me this Sunday for Virtual Worship at 11:00AMby connecting with us online, through our YouTube or Facebook links. We conclude our sermon series titled: “DETOX,” where we have been exploring how our boundaries hold up while sharing it with the wins and losses in our lives. This Sunday we conclude with how our “Blood Covenant” is connected with how we live our lives.

As always, I Invite you to take a moment to scroll down to view these announcements and the many other special announcements, connected to the life of our congregation and community, as we continue to be the vibrant, inclusive, and progressive community of faith that we are.

May God’s blessings continue to be with each of you!

In Christ
Scripture: Psalm 13:13-18

You created my inmost being and stitched me together in my mother’s womb. For
all these mysteries I thank you – for the wonder of myself, for the wonder of your
works – my soul knows it well. My frame was not hidden from you while I was being made in that secret place, knitted together in the depths of the earth, your eyes
saw my body even there. All of my days were written in your book, all of them
planned before even the first of them came to be. How precious your thoughts
are to me, O God! How impossible to number them! I could no more count them
than I could count the sand. But suppose I could? You would still be with me!
We invite you to join us for Sunday Worship, by joining us at our Facebook or YouTube Channels for our
WEEKLY SUNDAY WORSHIP ONLINE!
THIS SUNDAY WE CONTINUE OUR SERIES:
Jesus didn’t come to make bad people good.
He came to make dead people live!

This Sunday we'll CONCLUDE our series with:

Dear Beloved in Christ:

ver the past few days, and as new Covid variants and increasing numbers of cases have hit the Greater Milwaukee area, your Staff and Board of Directors have been in close communication with me, thinking through and implementing a protocol based on our desire to keep everyone safe, as well as reducing any spread of this virus.

Therefore, effective THIS SUNDAY, 16 January 2022, and to protect the most vulnerable among us, and based on recommendations from the CDC, The Wisconsin Council of Churches, The Greater Milwaukee Clergy Council, as well as our local health officials. The following has been put in place, along with what you can do as we move forward:
  • Continue to prayer for your pastor, staff, board of directors, and most of all one another.
  • All in-person worship starting with Worship Services for this Sunday, January 16, 2022, and until further notice, have been cancelled.
  • We will therefore go back to a Virtual Worship Structure, like we did previously, with worship still being at 11:00AM, but will premiere virtually on our Facebook and YouTube pages, along with access through our website at www.milwakeemcc.org.
  • As of now, we are prayerful that this will be a temporary situation, we the staff, Board of Directors and myself, continue to monitor and be in close communication with our colleagues within the Greater Milwauke Faith Community.
  • All programming, such as Brunch with the Pastor, Theology-on-Tap, POZ Spirit and other in-person type gatherings will be suspended until it is safe to reconvene in person. You will be the FIRST to know when that happens.
  • Our Congregational Care Team is available and will provide care via telephone or email. If you have a care need, prayer or praise request, you can contact the church office (414-383-1100) or via email at info@milmcc.org. Please leave a message with your information, if you need someone to contact you back, as well as leaving us your prayer or praise request. The weekly Prayer & Praise email will continue to go out each Wednesday morning.

If you auto-give, through your financial institution, or already give online, we THANK YOU. But, if you have typically placed your gifts in the offering plate each Sunday, we also offer other options when giving to the church.

There are several ways YOU can make either a one-time donation or even a recurring donation. Here are the ways you can make that happen:
  1. Through our Secure Online Giving Portal, or either of our two PayPal links. You can go to our Secure Online Giving Portal and/or our PayPal Giving Link for your regular offering or one time giving. You can also go through our regular PayPal Link if you’re wanting to start and set-up a recurring monthly giving for your offering. Click on either of the links below to make that happen.
  2. You can mail your offering via check or credit card by using one of the pre-printed offering envelopes that have been distributed to all our members. Simply insert your check in the envelope or complete the information on the inner flap, should you choose to donate by credit card, and return it by mail. If you are in need envelopes, please contact the church, either by leaving us a message or emailing us at info@milmcc.org. We will be happy to send some to you.
  3. You can send your offering via check in a regular addressed envelope to: Milwaukee Metropolitan Community Church, 1239 West Mineral Street, Milwaukee, WI 53204.

Please prayerfully consider making a gift to support your church, so that we can continue to meet the needs of the congregation.
