New RPS Course Begins Next Month

We are thrilled to invite you to the Foundations of Whole Child Care and Education Reflective Practitioner Series (RPS) course.

In this monthly program, Kisha Reid will identify key foundations for fostering holistic child development, supporting children’s autonomy, and building affirming, nurturing environments for children and families.

Each month focuses on a core set of foundations for thriving classrooms.

RPS courses are offered to our monthly subscribers for $8 a month. Each month, Kisha will provide a pre-recorded video discussion, a reflective workbook, and host a live Zoom meeting to help you go deeper into exploring the foundation.

Diversity

 Is Not Divisive

BLMAS Year of Purpose Resource

Our March Diversity Is Not Divisive Resource is Embrace Race. They "help parents, caregivers, and educators raise children who are thoughtful, informed, and brave about race, especially in the birth through middle school years". Their website includes action guides, toolkits, webinars, and more! Also, check out their fellowships!

The Black Lives Matter at School Year of Purpose highlights a different guiding principle each month. We will share a book related to the monthly principle. For March, the guiding principle is Loving Engagement, and we chose the book Ms. Tizzy by Libba Bray and illustrated by Jada Rowland.

Do you have a favorite diversity resource you want us to share? Fill out this form! Explore our Diversity Resources here.

DEY Dialogues

Save the date for our next two DEY Dialogues!

On Tuesday, March 24th, Dr. Katie Sloan will join Denisha to discuss her latest article on fascism and early childhood teacher education!

And on Monday, April 20th, Denisha talks with the hosts of the new podcast Liberated Learning. Kisa Marx and Mike Huber share why they believe play is the space where we can claim liberation.

All DEY Dialogues are streamed live on the DEY Facebook page, and recordings are added to our website.

You can catch up on all our DEY Dialogues here.

Mini-Grant Update

Children Learn through Play Awareness in Malawi

The project served as community-level advocacy by translating child development theory into practical, visible learning experiences. It reinforced the importance of developmentally appropriate practices that should inform early childhood education policies and decision-making.

DEY would like to congratulate our recent Mini-Grant recipients:
