DFC New Recipient Training

Recording & Slides Available

Thank you to those who attended the FY2022 New Recipient Training on November 15th. We hope this training provided you with an overview of the partners ONDCP brings together to offer training and support to DFC-funded coalition’s local efforts. Please let us know your thoughts on each presentation by completing the CDC Feedback Survey, the National Evaluation Team Feedback Survey, and the CADCA Feedback Survey.

We encourage you to login to DFC & CARA Me and explore the Learning Center. We have added several resources for you to review if you were not able to attend the training, or if you would like to go over what you have learned. Each resource below can be found by typing “New Recipient Training” into the search box. They are also currently featured resources in the Learning Center:

  • FY2022 DFC New Recipient Training Webinar: This resource includes the slides from ONDCP, CDC, the National Evaluation Team, and CADCA presentations. Each partner's presentation was recorded and these recordings are now available for you to view.
  • DFC New Recipient Training Welcome Checklist: This checklist includes helpful information and first steps to take as a new key personnel.
  • DFC Reporting Requirements: This table provides a detailed overview of all DFC reporting requirements, including who should complete each requirement and when and where to submit them.

There are also many other resources available to you in the DFC & CARA Me Learning Center. These resources include Tip Sheets on various topics such as submitting your Core Measures and understanding your dashboard, the 2021 DFC Cross-Site Evaluation Report, and webinars providing training on topics such as the Data Entry Tool and school engagement. Please take time to go through the Resources section of the Learning Center and see what resources can help you! We would be happy to show you more of the DFC & CARA Me system during our next office hours. Just join us and ask!

Office Hours with the DFC & CARA

National Evaluation Team

Office hours will be held on Tuesday, December 6th, from 3:30 to 4:30 PM EST. Please use this link to join. You can join at any time. During these drop-in sessions, grant recipients will have the opportunity to speak directly with members of the National Evaluation Team and:

  • Ask questions about the National Evaluation and DFC & CARA Me.
  • Let us quickly guide you on next steps if you are having challenges (e.g., related to progress reports, our data entry tool, core measures, local evaluators, and other evaluation-related topics).
  • Determine if it might be helpful to set up a one-on-one session with us.
  • Provide feedback on topics to be covered in future webinars, on conducting office hours, or anything related to evaluation.
  • Drop-in to introduce yourself and connect with other coalitions!

We are excited to meet you during this office hour and hope this provides a way to stay connected!

Teams Tips

  • These meetings may be accessed via your internet browser, desktop app, or mobile app. For optimal performance, we recommend downloading Teams on your computer.
  • Before joining, restart your computer, then close other open apps (e.g., Outlook, Skype, Excel). If possible, ask others in your household to minimize internet usage (e.g., pause streaming videos, online games).
  • To listen to the audio, make sure your device volume is turned up.
  • To turn on Closed Captioning, use the "CC" button on the bottom right corner of your screen.

Other Reminders

View & Submit Success Stories

ONDCP and the DFC & CARA National Evaluation Team want to acknowledge and thank DFC and CARA coalitions who have already helped to grow the Learning Center by submitting success stories. The Learning Center helps coalitions easily find evaluation-related information and share stories that will help one another. Please check out the Learning Center and read some of the stories for ideas that will help inform your own local work. To submit a Success Story, go to Learning Center > My Success Stories and select “Create Success Story.” Your Progress Report is a great place to start when thinking about accomplishments to share.

Submit Your Survey for Review

In order to submit core measures, coalitions must first have surveys reviewed and approved. DFC grant recipients may submit surveys for review at any time. If you have an approved survey in DFC & CARA Me already, and your core measures questions have not changed, there is no need to submit a new survey for review.

Update Key Personnel & Contact Information

Please check your coalition information, including key personnel names, email addresses, and phone numbers in both DFC & CARA Me and in GrantSolutions GMM. You can check your Key Personnel in DFC & CARA Me by logging into the system, navigating to the Quick Links box on the top right of your screen and clicking the link "View Coalition Information." If the information does not match in the two systems or if any information is no longer accurate, please notify your Project Officer to seek approval for updates/corrections. Accurate, updated information supports ONDCP, CDC, and our team in reaching out to your coalition.

Coalition Snapshots

Please review your coalition snapshots and if you have any questions or think you may have submitted incorrect data, particularly for core measures, please reach out to our team to discuss the issue. You can review data submitted by your coalition from 2016 to present in DFC & CARA Me. Recent updates in key personnel and other coalition information may not be on the snapshots; if the information has been updated in DFC & CARA Me, it will be reflected in your next snapshot.

Best,

DFC & CARA National Evaluation Team
