Transportation as a Service

The D.C. Department of For-Hire Vehicles is developing innovative transportation programs to provide customers with more convenient, comfortable and safe rides.

Our strategy is to treat "transportation as a service" to reinvent modes of transportation to be more accessible to the aging, veterans, people with disabilities, and those who cannot afford some of the current options.

DFHV is facilitating opportunities to support our objective through Grant Funding to address market failures. The new funding notice to participate in innovative pilot projects and partnership programs is aimed at improving transportation equity, expanding economic opportunities, and solving problems within the taxicab industry that benefit taxicab consumers.
