DFI46 5K Run Run/Walk
Congratulations to all those who participated on Oct. 13 in the DFI Educational Trust’s 5K Fun Run/Walk during the DFI Annual Conference in Las Vegas. Proceeds from the race provide scholarships to students pursuing careers in the deep foundations engineering and construction industry. The winners were:
  • 1st – Nica Sylva, Legacy Foundations
  • 2nd – Harold Wattenburg, PVE Equipment USA
  • 3rd – Kevin Becker, Michels Corporation
WiDF Networking Reception
The Trust and the DFI Women in Deep Foundations (WiDF) Committee held a networking reception at DFI46 in Las Vegas. During the event, the winners of the WiDF Professional Development Grant were recognized.

#Giving Tuesday
For the seventh year, the DFI Educational Trust is participating in #GivingTuesday. Please consider donating to the Trust for this year’s nationwide day of giving on November 30, and support students pursuing careers in the deep foundations industry.
Clyde Baker Fundraiser
The Trust, DFI community and industry colleagues enjoyed a scenic Chicago River cruise on Sept. 29 to support the Clyde N. Baker, Jr. Foundation Engineering Scholarship. The event raised $11,000 for the Baker scholarship, which was established in 2020 to honor Baker’s extraordinary contributions to the deep foundations industry.
California Golf Outing
The Trust annual California Golf Outing Fundraiser was held on Sept. 20 at the Dublin Ranch Golf Course. Dozens of golfers hit the links to raise approximately $19,000 to fund scholarships for students pursuing their academic studies in deep foundations, architecture, engineering and construction.
