Ongoing Faculty Development

On behalf of Sara G. Shields, MD, MS, FAAFP, we are looking at ways to do some ongoing faculty development for our MCH attendings. While we work on how to find a time/structure for this longer-term, we are going to start with inviting everyone to join the FHCW faculty for a 30min discussion of Induction of Labor, based on my FCMC talk and a recent CMQCC webinar on the topic. Thanks to Laura Sturgill for allowing this use of our monthly faculty meeting time. We are going to do this as part of our faculty meeting on Monday, December 21, 1:00 - 1:30pm.  
We know this time won't work for everyone, but please join if you can, using the zoom link below. We will also record and upload it to the MCH drive for asynchronous viewing.
Recent Department Member Announcement
We are extremely pleased to announce that Dr. Elizabeth Bobersky and Dr. Alexandra Cours will be our two new fellows in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School for 2021-2022. Elizabeth is completing her residency in Family Medicine at UMass and Alexandra is completing her residency in Internal Medicine at UC San Diego. We very much look forward to having Elizabeth and Alexandra join our program next year, and we are confident that they will make important contributions to the field of geriatric medicine in their future careers. Congratulations to Elizabeth and Alexandra!

Education Spotlight: DCS 1
Doctoring and Clinical Skills 1 Faculty Appreciation
The Doctoring and Clinical Skills course covers professional and personal topics important to the clinical skills of emerging doctors, including eliciting patient histories, performing physical exams, clinical decision making, and communication. Year 1 learning occurs in the context of mentored relationships with faculty in small groups and longitudinal clinical rotations with community providers.

Thank you to the DFMCH faculty members who teach in the DCS 1 course. Your foundational teaching of our students is critical in their success.
