DHEC Environmental eNews
May 2021 | View as Webpage
DHEC continues to work with federal, state and local partners as it responds to COVID-19 in South Carolina. As we remain committed to protecting the safety and health of the public during this national and state emergency, DHEC's Environmental Affairs staff is also focused on keeping our customers and stakeholders informed of important events, regulations, meetings, permitting information, and compliance information.
COVID-19 Vaccine Update

South Carolinians who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no longer need to wear masks indoors or outdoors with a few exceptions.

There is still work to do in our fight against COVID-19. Only 36% of South Carolinians are fully vaccinated. We encourage you to encourage others who are age 12 and over to get vaccinated. Vaccines are now widely available and you can use the Vax Locator to find vaccine sites near you.
NEW Savannah River Site Webpage

A new webpage has been created to showcase all of the work that Environmental Affairs does both on and around the Savannah River Site (SRS). Learn how DHEC interacts with SRS with the Environmental Surveillance and Oversight Program, Federal Facilities Agreement, High-level Waste Tanks, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and through permitting with the Bureaus of Water and Air Quality.
