DHM Social Activities

Our annual DHM After-the-Holidays Holiday Party with an evening of cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and good company is on January 6, 2023 at The Vault Garden! The event will be held outdoors with a cover for rain. Additionally, the UCSF Recovery Operations Center highly recommends all guests take either a pre-event color test at UCSF or an at-home rapid COVID antigen test before the event. This guidance is based on people recently returning from holiday travel, although this is not a requirement.

Equity & Belonging in Hospital Medicine

Dear friends, colleagues, and allies,

For the last entry of 2022, allow me to share one reflection for 2022 and one wish for 2023. I invite you to do the same. To share your reflection and wish — please email yalda.shahram@ucsf.edu

My reflection on 2022 is to stand in unity for freedom and against patriarchy, together with the people in Iran. My wish for 2023 is justice for Mahsa (Zhina) Amini and all my sisters in South West Asia who are killed, arrested, tortured, banned, and oppressed by religious fundamentalists.

The recent killing of Dr. Ayda Rostami renewed the urgency of my call to action. She was a street medic — treating the injured protesters of the Woman Life Freedom movement. Please join me to sign and share our petition, taking action and raising awareness.
