Dear Parents and Guardians:

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We are excited to begin a fantastic new year with a great new website! A PTO membership helps families build connections with each other and our school. Our hope is that each family with a student at DHS becomes a member of the DHS PTO so we can continue to enrich the lives of our DHS community.

Your support is important this year as we find innovative ways to support our DHS students and staff. You can purchase your membership here.

DHS PTO relies on your membership to support the following programming. Thanks to your membership support, the DHS PTO:

  • Funds senior students' PTO scholarships
  • Awards teacher and staff grants
  • Provides hospitality
  • Hosts Grand Warrior Day
  • Sponsors Prom After Party transportation
  • Recognizes legacies and milestones
  • Sponsors Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week
  • Supports DHS students and staff as much as possible

Your membership helps to contribute to all of the above activities!

The membership donation is $50 for the school year. Membership includes two smartphone directory apps. All DHS families are included in the directory.

In addition, we are selling Deerfield Discount Cards on our website for $10 each. If you order one online you can pick it up at Open House. Also, donate to the DHS PTO Senior Scholarship Fund and feel free to make a charitable donation for over $50 and receive a tax letter for the donation. These items can be found at www.dhs-pto.org under FOR SALE.

Thank you for your support.

HAVE A GREAT SEASON & GO WARRIORS!

Now a little bit about us. The DHS Athletic Booster Club’s mission is to promote athletic success, spirit, sportsmanship and a commitment to excellence beyond the classroom. We strive to support programs and resources that enhance athletic programs, the student-athlete experience, and the athletic facilities at DHS. We work in collaboration with Nate Flannery, Athletic Director and Molly Tomlinson, Assistant Athletic Director to honor our commitments and make a difference each school year.

Membership is the largest and most important revenue stream for the booster club. It allows us to support our 775+ unique student-athletes across Deerfield’s 34 athletic teams. For this past school year, the booster club gave back $152,456 to the student-athletes by way of funding requests ($117,859), allocation of membership dues ($20,850), and collaborative fundraising ($13,748). Your student-athlete, in one way or another, has benefited from booster club contributions and our support of DHS Athletics. We hope you will consider getting involved and learning more about our not-for-profit, all volunteer organization.

This fall, there are 3 easy ways to make a big impact!

Aches & Pains? We can help! Whether it’s walking the dog or taking a bike ride, at Athletico we believe there is freedom from pain. Request a free assessment here with a movement expert from our partner, Athletico Physical Therapy. Free Assessments are available in-clinic or virtually through their Telehealth platform.

Have you heard? NorthShore University Health System is now Endeavor Health. As Illinois’ third largest health system, Endeavor Health delivers world-class care with empathy and compassion. At the Endeavor Health Orthopaedic & Spine Institute, our team of sports specialists includes primary care sports medicine, and pediatric orthopaedics and sports medicine surgeons - all of whom are fellowship - and specialty-trained.

These experts are dedicated to providing comprehensive sports medicine care for athletes of all ages, including pediatric sports injuries, as well as nonsports-related injuries and musculoskeletal care. Our primary care sports medicine team cares for medical issues affecting young athletes, such as concussions, sports physicals, injury prevention, counseling, nutritional concerns and overtraining. If treatment requires surgical care, pediatric and sports medicine surgeons treat injuries, including torn ligaments, tendons and fractures, using the latest minimally invasive techniques. This same team also covers our Orthopaedic & Spine Immediate Care sites, which means musculoskeletal experts are treating pediatric patients even in acute situations.

Your best health—and Warriors athletes’ best health—is our endeavor.

A new school year means new friends and new social circles. Before a get together, parents may ask other parents about food allergies, pets and whether an adult will be home. The same conversation can include questions on alcohol, marijuana and gun safety. CTAD's Aug/Sept newsletter has some suggestions from our local chapter of BeSmart on how to make that conversation a little easier.

In this CTAD newsletter:

  • Keeping your teens safe when they go to others' homes
  • DHS students choose to be drug-free because THEY CARE - about their friends, their beliefs, their goals.
  • Take CTAD's parent survey for a chance to win a Starbucks gift card.
