The Drywall Interior Systems Contractors Association, Inc. of New Jersey (DISCA) has a Scholarship Program for the children or grandchildren of management employees of companies contributing to the DISCA Industry Promotion Fund (IPF). The scholarships are to help defer the cost of college and other educational expenses for a two or four-year education at an accredited college or an accredited vocational school.

DOL Independent Contractor Final Rule Announced, Will Take Effect March 11


The U.S. Department of Labor announced Tuesday a final rule revising its interpretation of the Fair Labor Standards Act’s classification provision to determine whether a worker may be considered an independent contractor.


The final rule largely tracks the agency’s October 2022 proposed rule. It retains the multifactor, “totality-of-the-circumstances” framework for analyzing independent contractors’ status included in that proposal.

Like labor and materials, the costs of purchasing and maintaining construction equipment have also been affected by ongoing supply chain issues and inflation.
