DISCA BOARD OF DIRECTORS WELCOMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Drywall & Interior Systems Contractors Association (DISCA) Board of Directors proudly welcome new Executive Director, William Umbach, to the association. Mr. Umbach has been serving as the Interim Executive Director since December 2018, after Rich Alampi retired. The Board of Directors conducted a search for a new executive director and vetted several candidates for the position. 

DISCA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

The Drywall Interior Systems Contractors Association, Inc. of New Jersey (DISCA) has a Scholarship Program for the children or grandchildren of management employees of companies contributing to the DISCA Industry Promotion Fund (IPF). The scholarships are to help defer the cost of college and other educational expenses for a two or four-year education at an accredited college or an accredited vocational school. LEARN MORE>

STUDY: AUTONOMOUS ROBOTS WORKING TOGETHER ARE INDUSTRY'S NEXT BIG THING

Construction of large structures by smaller, autonomous robots that coordinate with each other is “rapidly gaining momentum” in the field of robotics research, finds a new study from Science Robotics. These robots can add ress a “critical societal need for safe, inexpensive, sustainable and automated construction.”

OSHA SCRAPS OBAMA WORKPLACE INJURY
REPORTING RULE; 6 STATES SUE

Citing a concern over potential public disclosure of sensitive worker information, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recently eliminated a requirement that businesses with 250 or more employees electronically submit annual reports on every employee injury or illness.
