The Drywall and Interior Systems Contractors Association (DISCA) Scholarship Program is open for the children or grandchildren of management employees of companies contributing to the DISCA Industry Promotion Fund (IPF).
The scholarships are to help defer the cost of college and other educational expenses for a two or four-year education at an accredited college or an accredited vocational school.

With the Build Back Better (BBB) Act that passed the House last November now stalled in the Senate, many construction businesses throughout the country are hoping that their tax future remains certain as they continue to recover from the pandemic and begin the critical work needed to modernize the nation’s infrastructure. While Democrats in Congress look to shift their priorities toward other legislation, many construction businesses, including small and family-owned firms, are still concerned about the proposed tax hikes and policies that the Democratic majority has rolled out over the past year.

Contractors Turn to Payment Apps to
Speed Billing

Jeff Scalisi, vice president of operations at Livermore, California-based Architectural Glass and Aluminum, had no idea his company’s billing had issues until a tech solution came along to fix them.

Scalisi was reluctant to turn over something he believed “needed to be controlled by us” when he was contacted by a representative from Siteline, a software tool designed specifically to automate trade contractors’ billing process, three years ago. 

Events & Programs
Construction Industry Career Day is an outstanding example of labor and management working together to promote an industry. Supported by the unions, various trade associations and government agencies, the event started in 2001 and attracts about 3,000 people each year.
