The Drywall Interior Systems Contractors Association, Inc. of New Jersey (DISCA) has a Scholarship Program for the children or grandchildren of management employees of companies contributing to the DISCA Industry Promotion Fund (IPF). The scholarships are to help defer the cost of college and other educational expenses for a two or four-year education at an accredited college or an accredited vocational school.

On Tuesday, May 30, and Wednesday, May 31, the NJ Expo Center will resound with hammers, trowels, welders, and heavy operating equipment as the Drywall & Interior Systems Contractors Association (DISCA) and its industry partners host Construction Industry Career Day (CICD).


CICD is a two-day event that invites students, parents, educators, jobseekers, and the public to explore dozens of construction-related exhibits and demonstrations that reveal a challenging and rewarding career – and learn about the many professions in the industry, including their salaries, benefits, stackable credentials, and educational opportunities.

Here it is 2023, and the construction industry is still grappling with the supply chain crisis and material price escalation. According to the AGC’s 2023 Construction Outlook National Survey, 36% of contractors canceled projects in 2022 without rescheduling those projects and cited “rising costs” as the primary reason for cancellations. In the same survey, contractors highlighted “economic slowdown” and “building material prices” as their top two concerns in 2023.
