District Matters
A Fond Farewell and Many Thanks To Mr. Jim O'Neill
Interim Superintendent of Schools Jim O'Neill received special recognition at the district's recent retirement ceremony and subsequently attended his last Board of Education meeting on June 17. Mr. O'Neill, who has been serving as interim superintendent since August 27, 2018, will conclude his time in the district this Thursday, June 27. During the past year, among all of his other responsibilities, Mr. O'Neill guided the search for a permanent superintendent resulting in the hiring of Dr. Matthew J. Block, who will be "taking the helm" beginning July 1. In her retirement ceremony comments, LPS Human Resources Manager Sue Burman said, "As you return to your 'sweet home' in Alabama, we want to make sure that you know you will always have fans and friends in New Jersey. It may have been a temporary position, but you have a permanent place in our hearts!" We thank Mr. O'Neill for all that he has done, and wish him the very best in his retirement.

Congratulations Class of 2019!
Members of Livingston High School’s Class of 2019 received their diplomas at commencement exercises on Thursday, June 20. The ceremony included a performance by the LHS Chorus, speeches, and the presentation of graduates. See photos HERE!

In his remarks, valedictorian Jonathan Ackerman said, "Over the next few years, I hope all of us can continue our journeys of self-discovery and development. I hope we can all set new, optimistic goals and strive to reach them. And I hope we make many more treasured memories -- without forgetting the ones we made here. Congratulations class of 2019! We did it!"
OUR YOUNGEST GRADS!
Livingston High School's commencement ceremony may have been big news last week, but our littlest students marked a huge achievement! Burnet Hill pre-schoolers received their "diplomas" as they officially became rising kindergartners.

Proud family members looked on as the students performed several musical numbers before receiving their certificates from their teachers. The event concluded with refreshments and a photo-op.

Congratulations to all!
