A Chance to Provide Feedback
|
Livingston Public Schools will hold a Public Forum to solicit feedback on the traits and characteristics that members of the community would like to prioritize in selecting the next Superintendent of Schools. The forum will be held on
Monday, December 17, at 7 p.m. at the Administration Building, 11 Foxcroft Drive.
This meeting will include an online participation component. Additional details will be announced as they become available.

At its meeting on Nov. 26, the Livingston Board of Education and LPS administration recognized the Livingston Police Department, Fire Department and Department of Public Works for their support during the November 15 snowstorm. Representing their respective organizations that evening were DPW Superintendent Mike Anello, Norman Mitschele (LFD), LFD Deputy Chief Josh Lewis, Craig Connolly (DPW), LFD Chief Chris Mullin, and LPD Chief Marshuetz.

"Hour of Code" Family Night
|
On Wednesday, December 5, students in grades 3-5 and their parents are invited to Harrison Elementary School for an "Hour of Code" Family Night from 7 to 8:15 p.m. This is a district-wide event in celebration of Computer Science Education Week!

2018 Tech Dept. Open House
|
|

First graders in Heather Cohen’s class at Riker Hill School participated in an Art Appreciation lesson sponsored by the HSA. The students learned about the life and work of Henri Matisse, and then created their own Matisse inspired artwork. Shown with their projects are Izzy Glynn, Bryce Frauwirth and Mikey Crawford.

Pranad Marakala entertained the audience with Burnet Hill's Bobcat mascot at a school community meeting.

Magician and educator Bradley Fields presented his “MatheMagic” program at Hillside School. The show promotes math-skills and problem-solving through visuals, history, language and magical entertainment. Shown above, fourth grader Aaron Sheng assists Fields on the stage during the assembly.

First graders at Harrison used apples and pumpkins from their recent trip to a farm to learn math and science concepts. They started their experience in the Curiosity Lab by reading
How Many Seeds in a Pumpkin? Students got their hands dirty as they worked in groups to explore the characteristics of apples and pumpkins inside and out. Livingston High School students from Jeanne Ziobro’s Engineering CAD I course collaborated with Gifted & Talented (GT) students at
Mt. Pleasant Elementary on a tasty project! The LHS students designed and tested a package to safely ship a single Pringles chip to MPE. Christine Zambrio’s fifth grade GT students evaluated the packaging and condition of the chip using their understanding of volume and mass to determine the most efficient design and packaging. Members of the Livingston High School (LHS) Future Physicians and Nurses Club and the LHS Crochet and Knitting Club made 30 tiny red hats to be donated to maternity/birthing wards in local hospitals and given to mothers of newborns in February, which is National Healthy Heart Month.

Livingston Education Foundation (LEF) is a non-profit organization providing school-community partnerships and shared resources to enhance educational opportunities for Livingston Public Schools.
SAVE THE DATE! The LEF will hold its second annual Community Book Club event on Monday, January 14. The program will feature Livingston High School graduate Ann Schonwetter Arnold, author of
Together: A Journey for Survival. She will be joined by her father, Holocaust survivor Mark Schonwetter, and sister Isabella Fiske.
