A Message From the Superintendent
Dear LPS Community:

We are thrilled to have had all of our students back in school today for the opening of the 2021-2022 school year. Energy was high, enthusiasm was in the air, and it was just so great to see our students and staff interacting and creating connections with one another. Thank you to everyone who helped make today a reality.

As is true at the beginning of all school years, transportation, traffic, and lunch always present a number of logistical challenges. Difficulties in these areas were heightened further today by the rain, the new ordering system, and the unique circumstances surrounding our return to school this year.

We know that these issues will need our attention over the first several weeks of school. Please be patient as we work to improve our processes in these areas. We are confident that transportation, traffic, and lunch will become increasingly smooth and easy over the next couple of weeks.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Sincerely,
Matthew J. Block
Superintendent of Schools
