District Employees Volunteer for Earth Day with Local Community Cleanup

Staff Clears Invasive Shrub at Fort Ord Monument

In honor of Earth Day 2025, the Marina Coast Water District staff volunteered to cleanup a vast amount of invasive plants at the Fort Ord National Monument last week. With members of Citizens for Sustainable Marina, the two groups worked together to help reduce our carbon footprint in Marina.

Crews of employees and other volunteers removed French broom invasive shrubbery that is toxic to animals and other plant life. Thank you to all volunteers for working to remove the harmful species and restore the natural habitat with native plants that belong there, protecting our environment for many years to come.

A day well spent to make our community more Eco-Friendly.

Happy Earth Day 2025 to all!
