Dearest Members,
New Beginnings…
Don’t you just love the adventure and excitement of new beginnings? Educators everywhere have started their new school year – a blank slate to organize, schedule, and fill, new students to know, nurture and instruct, new learning for all involved, and new possibilities and opportunities to be utilized in an effort to make a difference in the lives of those they teach.
The same is true of DKG/Ohio. We have a new biennium before us with a newly elected leadership team in place, who
believe
in the possibilities and opportunities DKG has to offer and has worked diligently these past three short months to begin
building
our pathway for Ohio’s future. We too are committed to making a difference in the health and well-being of our chapters and state organization.
We look forward to reporting our progress at our first Executive Board meeting in Grove City on Saturday, October 12, 2019. We will be sharing.....

In 2018-2019, the ADSOEF Foundation awarded an A. Margaret Boyd International Study Overseas Fellowship to Nominchimeg, "Nomin", Davannyam for study at Kent State University. Nomin joined us at the OSO State Convention and was exceedingly thrilled to learn about DKG and to meet many of our members. She wanted to share her thoughts of what this fellowship, our kind words of encouragement and other gestures mean to her. Her letter follows:
You are encouraged to reach out to her!

In the last five years, International has lost 250 chapters and 13,200 members. The number of inductees is also on the decline. We have been given a challenge and know it will take time to begin making a difference. The Membership Committee will be assisting us in this dual venture. We want to be a part of the solution, not part of the problem. We hope you, our members, will join us with this challenge. Please let us know what we can do to assist your chapter.

"Get Connected!"
Great Source of Information for Chapters
This bimonthly publication is a single sheet which addresses a different topic each time. The topics are timeless. So if you have a communication question, try this unique but often overlooked source.
The September/October issue speaks to internal marketing. It also gives the reader startling numbers about our membership health.
Back issues are always on our website.

Dear Delta Kappa Gamma Ohio State,
Thank you for all the cards, phone calls and words of comfort you showered upon my family at the time of my husband, Ed’s death. A special thank you to Meier Bauer, Diana Haskell, and Donna Myers for their surprise visit to the funeral home. My children and extended family saw what a wonderful group Delta Kappa Gamma is and why I am passionate about our programs.
Gratefully---Tammy Schroeder
