After some number crunching, I am very pleased to share with you that DKT International had a record-breaking year in 2018, delivering
44.6 million CYPs across programs in some
55 countries around the world. CYPs delivered are a result of a DKT product sold directly to an end consumer, health provider, or an institution that then uses those products.
In 2018, DKT sold or otherwise directly provided:
- 722 million male and female condoms
- 5.5 million IUDs
- 684,000 implants
- 29.6 million injectables
- 10.6 million emergency contraceptives
- 101 million oral contraceptives
- 15.5 million misoprostol tabs
- 3.5 million mife/miso combipacks
- 180,000 aspirators and 1.6 million cannulae
We estimate that the products, services, and technology delivered by DKT averted:
- 12.7 million pregnancies
- 9.8 million unsafe abortions
- 31,800 maternal deaths
- 90,000 infant deaths
