DKUK Newsletter July 2022
|
|
Dear Members & Friends,
We have officially reached the summer period, and what a wonderful summer it has been so far. We started off the month with a traditional Danish Pinsefrokost/Whitsun luncheon, which marked the start of the Whitsun holidays - a perfect opportunity to say farewell to the current Danish Ambassador before he leaves his post in London, moving to Dublin as Denmark’s Ambassador to Ireland.
More recently, DKUK supported the Danish Church event which celebrated St Hans Midsummer, where family and friends got together to sing around the bonfire and send off the witch on top of the fire to Bloksbjerg.
Coming up this month is the Association's most prestigious social gathering of the year - the Summer Reception taking place on the 8th of July on the impressive terrace at the House of Lords. So please join us for summer drinks, canapes and great company!
The UEFA Women’s Euro Cup also kicks off and we will be organising a special screening of the Denmark vs Finland game in collaboration with our colleagues at the FBCC, which will be shown live on the terrace at EKTE Nordic Kitchen.
As you will see, we have a great line-up of activities and events planned. We wish you all a great start to your summer, and we hope to see you at our upcoming summer events!
Kind regards,
DKUK Team
Deanne, Helena, Sarah, Sia & Gunnar
