EXCITE Transformation for Libraries Standalone Bootcamp 1
is in the books as a resounding success. Twenty-two librarians representing Central CT State University; CT State Library; Eastern CT State University; Jonathon Trumbull Library, Lebanon CT; Ferguson Library, Stamford, CT; Meriden Library, CT; New Haven Free Public Library, CT; Ossining Library, NY; Russell Library, CT and Springfield City Library, MA embarked on
an immersive, intensive and exciting 3 days together to help them learn the core 21
st
Century Librarian Leadership skills of collaboration, innovation, design-thinking and entrepreneurship that will help transform their libraries.
Rather than recount the 3 days, we will let our participant feedback speak for itself:
“Amazing! I will forever trust the process. Thank you for filling my "tool box" with a few more techniques to help develop amazing programs.”
“Loved to spend the last 3 days innovating, collaborating, learning with other librarians and now have new tools to bring to my home library and help the community develop new outputs.”
“So wonderful to work with all the teams of libraries who helped provide honest feedback on developing our ideas. Really see the difference between planning the usual way and this way that really creates meaningful programs that the target audience wants.”
“This was so useful and seriously made me grow to think outside my comfort zone to develop some good, great, and fantastic ideas.”
“Thank you for providing this training. I learned so much be having to use the tools provided to think on my feet and give good feedback to my fellow EXCITE folks. Thank you again!”
“I have so many ideas and can't wait to bring this back to my library!”
The EXCITE Team is looking forward to taking our show on the road for Cohort 2 which begins on September 11
th
at the Cranston Public Library in Cranston Rhode Island.
