Staff Spotlight
The Connecticut State Library, Division of Library Development is very pleased to welcome our new LSTA Coordinator, Christine Gauvreau.

Chris comes to us as the former Project Coordinator of the Connecticut Digital Newspaper Project, which was recently awarded a 4th, 2-year grant by the National Endowment for the Humanities to continue the project. Chris oversaw the workflow and collaboration on the budget compliance for 3 of the 4 grants that funded the digitization of over 330,000 pages of historic newspapers.

Prior to that position she was a New Product Development Editor and a Project Manager on a contract basis for Archives Unbound, a product of Primary Source Media/Gale, a part of Cengage Learning.

Chris will bring to this position a strong background in federal grant project administration, community outreach and a wealth of ideas for developing LSTA grant opportunities for CT libraries.

Welcome aboard, Chris!

eGO Update

eGO CT is a project from the Connecticut State Library that includes acquiring digital content, such as eBooks and eAudio, and making it available to users statewide primarily through the SimplyE app.

Starting in November and continuing for a few weeks, we'll be rolling out the SimplyE app. SimplyE does not replace other apps and can be used in tandem with them. You and your patrons can continue using RBdigital, Overdrive, or any of the other apps as you wish. SimplyE will allow you and your patrons to simultaneously search the statewide eBook and eAudio collections in RBdigital, Baker and Taylor, and the Digital Public Library as well as your local library eBook and eAudio collections that you have with any of the vendors above plus Overdrive eBooks.

Stay tuned for training sessions starting in November.

We opened an eGO e-mail list which we will use to keep subscribers up to date on the project. If you wish to subscribe, let Stephen Cauffman ( stephen.cauffman@ct.gov ) know and he will subscribe you to the list.
