Maine Homes by Downeast

One of DMA's projects was featured in the December issue of Downeast magazine. House on the Hill, a beautiful addition renovation to an historic home on Paris Hill, was photographed last winter by Rachel Sieben. An unfortunate ell addition was completely removed and rebuilt and the existing house was renovated. Lighting design by Greg Day Lighting, construction by CAF III Builders.
Ribbon Cutting

Right before Thanksgiving, Patriot Insurance Company's new offices was officially opened during a chilly ribbon cutting ceremony. Some short speeches began the ceremony, tours of the facility, and then Landry/French treated everyone to a pig roast. A few punch list items remain, but Patriot Insurance is officially in their new corporate headquarters.
Homewood Bound

DMA's third project in this home association in Yarmouth, the original cottage was demolished but the footprint had to remain the same. DMA expanded the one-story cottage into an energy efficient, two-story cottage, Homewood Bound, and was able to reduce the mass of the structure by keeping the height as low as possible while still designing two bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor. Construction by Rideout & Turner.

Twisted Christmas

The Fifth Annual Twisted Christmas by Studio Theatre of Bath did not disappoint. Always the first weekend in December, it really is a great way to kick off the holiday season. Cathy's world-wide global international premier of her "ukulele stylings"  was so much fun!

Alisson's Bar

After two years in their renovated restaurant, Alisson's Restaurant in Kennebunkport is ready to update their bar. DMA is working with Jeanne Handy Designs and contractor Leo Richardson to update the bar to better integrate it into the restaurant design we worked on in 2015.

Lunch and Learn

We are hosting a Lunch and Learn this Wednesday December 6 at noon in our office.  Keith Bidwell of SIGA will discuss "Air Tightness & Moisture Management - Strategies in High Performance Building Envelopes." Please email me if you would like to attend, it is worth CEU credits.
On the Drawing Board

Currently on the drawing board is a lake-front house with a couple of garages behind the main house. We are working on adding new living spaces above the garages and creating a new entrance and screened porch to link the buildings together.
