October 2020  (No. 98)
Welcome to our newsletter.  Once a month we will update you with news about David Matero Architecture and our community. We welcome your comments, questions and feedback.
Bowdoin Box

The Bowdoin Box  reflects the restrictions of the shoreland zone along the Cathance River. These restrictions created a limit on the footprint and building height. By creating a flat roof we were able to design two bedrooms on the second floor with reasonable head height. The living room box was pulled from the main structure to allow high ceilings and beautiful corner windows to help flood the living spaces with natural daylight. Construction by the Owner.
Maine Home + Design

Maine Home + Design featured  The Get Away in the October issue. A very nice article Jorge Arango and photos by Jeff Roberts Imaging, the architecture really shines. Compliments to interior designers Bradley Bowden and Bridgette Haulenbeek, and builder Eric Smith from Oceanside Builders
Cliff Cottage

Blasting is done and the hole has been dug for an addition to the Cliff Cottage. This view will be gone forever, as a screen porch will connect the addition to the main cottage. The addition will provide a much more comfortable, and quiet, sanctuary for the owners. Construction by Chartier Building and Remodeling.
Sunset Point

After a year-long planning and approval process, Sunset Point soon will begin demolition by Burnham and Lobozzo. The footprint and existing basement will remain, but much of the existing house was not in good enough condition for the investment. The new views from the new living room to be opened towards the water will be spectacular.

Phase 1

DMA is working through the final phases of design on a small, water-side modern bunk house that will serve as living quarters while the owners get to to know the site and area, and consider a larger, main house, in the future. Construction by Chartier Building and Remodeling.
