Healthiest State 11th Annual Walk
Please join us on Wednesday, October 6th, at noon for Healthiest State 11th Annual Walk. We will meet at the main entrance of the DMACC Newton Campus. Our walk will be outside unless the weather is inclement then we will walk inside. Water and fruit will be provided at the end of the walk.

Basic life skills go mostly untaught in classrooms, so we are here to help you figure out how to live successfully in the world. This fall, we will cover Adulting topics such as:
  • cooking basics
  • budgeting basics

  • setting boundaries
  • stress management
  • all about insurance (life, home, auto)

Campus Fellowship
Are you looking for fellowship, encouragement, and prayer? This group meets weekly to read from the Bible or a Christian devotional and pray. Although this is a Christian group based on belief in Jesus for salvation, people of all faiths are welcome to attend.  Innovation in Men’s Mental Health: Using Humor, Media, and Digital Engagement to Promote Mental Health and Prevent Suicide
Tuesday, November 9, 10a.m.-11a.m.
Men often do not seek mental health services or disclose suicidal thoughts for many reasons including fear of discrimination and prejudice, internalized stigmatized beliefs and misinformation. This workshop will describe an innovative, award-winning, multi-media mental health program called ‘Man Therapy’ that uses humor and digital formats to engage men to think differently about their mental health.

Dealing with Grief (non-death)
Monday, November 15, 2:00p.m.-3:00p.m.
When we think about grief and loss, we usually think about the death of someone. However, there are many other types of losses (loss of a job, a relationship, etc.) We also experienced many types of losses with the COVID pandemic (loss of social support, etc.) This workshop will discuss some of other types of losses and healthy coping mechanisms.

Healthy Relationships

Relationships are a cornerstone of the human experience. Whether they are romantic or based on friendship, they are a basic human need. While it is important to understand what an unhealthy relationship is, it can be harder to define the characteristics of a healthy one. We will explore both sides and push the social stereotypes between men and women.

FINANCIAL AID & STUDENT ACCOUNT INFORMATION
 
 
·       Spring registration starts October 11. If you have a balance due, you will not be able to register for spring classes.
 
 
·       Your financial aid automatically applies to your student account.
 
·       You can check your financial aid refund schedule. Check out
 
·       DMACC issues an official College ID to all credit students, the
 DMACC OneCard. This College ID will provide access to student services such as library resources, events and activities. Make sure to activate your card and select your preference even if you do not receive financial aid, there may be instances in which you receive a refund from the College.
DMACC ID NUMBER
When contacting DMACC by phone or email, please know your DMACC ID and include it in the email or be ready to give it to the person you are on the phone with.
If you don't know your DMACC ID number. Check on any correspondence (email or mail) from DMACC. It will be on there. It it also in many places in myDMACC. If you have your DMACC One Card, it is also on there.
It will start with 90xxxxxxx.

If you think you want to spend 8 weeks in the United Kingdom as a DMACC student, it's time to start planning! Come to one of our upcoming info meetings. You’ll learn about how the program is structured, how to pay for your trip, and what you can learn from studying in one of Europe’s most diverse, vibrant cities.

Federal Emergency Relief Funds for DMACC Students

DMACC students can now complete the Fall 2021 Semester Application for America Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP) Emergency Funds online.

This federal program provides cash grants to currently enrolled students at DMACC. Funds may only be used for a student’s cost to attend DMACC (including tuition, fees, housing, food, technology, supplies, etc.) or for emergency expenses associated with COVID-19.

Important information about who should complete the application:

·       Students who are already receiving financial aid during the fall term are automatically awarded ARP funds if eligible, and do NOT need to complete the ARP application.

·       Students who are NOT using financial aid during the fall term are encouraged to complete the ARP application.
