As 2023 comes to an end I want to take a moment to thank you for allowing me to hop in your inbox once a month over the past few months.

I hope you've enjoyed reading my monthly newsletter and found some benefit in it. If so, please reply and let me know. I would love to hear from you and knowing that you're getting something from this would make my day. 😁

And now for this month's tip, resource, and reminder!

Start gathering your tax documents NOW!

I know, I know...it's still December and the year isn't even over yet. But trust me. Do yourself (and your tax preparer) a big favor and start getting organized for tax season now.

Start with a list of all the tax documents and other information you'll need to prepare your tax return so you're not scrambling during tax time trying to remember it all which could lead to you potentially missing something.

Trust me, something as simple as a missed W-2 or 1099 could lead to a ton of stress and headache later. If you forget to report some of your income you run the risk of getting a notice from the IRS and getting hit with additional tax, interest, and penalties. No one wants to deal with that.

So how do you know what documents you need to be prepared for tax season? Check out this month's resource below 👇🏼

I've created this Tax Doc Checklist to help you get organized for tax season.

This checklist lists the majority of the documents you'll need to ensure you're ready to prepare a complete and accurate tax return.

From income documents to items you'll need to prove deductions and credits, and everything in between. It's all in there.

Check it out now!

With only 2 weeks left in the year, I want to remind you to use this time to make moves that will improve your tax and overall financial situation.

Here are just a few things you can do:

  • Use the funds in your FSA
  • Contribute to your retirement plan
  • Donate to charity
  • Harvest investment losses
  • Budget for next year

If you have questions or need assistance with any of these things, reply to this message or schedule a call today.

I hope you enjoyed this month's tip, resource, and reminder to help you on your journey of achieving your personal and business financial goals.
