Cutler Bay Secures $1.5M Funding for 3.5-Acre Land Acquisition


In a proactive move towards environmental preservation, The Town swiftly pursued grant funding opportunities following the recent acquisition of the 3.5-acre property on SW 87th Ave and Old Cutler Rd. Just two weeks after securing the land, the Town presented its case before The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Florida Communities Trust. This proactive step resulted in the successful preliminary award of $1.5 million in funding toward the purchase of the land, reaffirming our commitment to sustainable land management and environmental conservation. This achievement underscores our dedication to ensuring the long-term preservation of vital green spaces within our community.

The Miami-Dade County Emergency & Evacuation Assistance Program (EEAP) provides free evacuation aid to eligible residents with specialized transportation, sheltering, and wellness calls post-disaster. Those needing medical assistance or relying on electricity for life-saving equipment should register for priority assistance. The program caters to individuals living alone or with families who have specific needs, excluding long-term care facility residents.
