SUPPORT OUR VETERANS
On September 28, 2019, at the Town of Whitehall, Delawareans came
together to celebrate the contribution of our military in the community. Organized by volunteers of Delaware’s 22in22 initiative, nearly 2,000 civilians, veterans, students and active duty military gathered to reflect on the needs of various veteran groups. Proceeds from the day were used to afford veteran support organizations the opportunity to connect with attendees
and $50,000 was donated to nonprofit, Stop Soldier Suicide. 2019’s focus was on Delaware’s Gold Star families, who were the Grand Marshalls in the Town of Whitehall’s parade. Read more

The Aging Workforce: Tackling the Challenge

America’s longest economic expansion on record—and one of its tightest labor markets in recent decades—has resulted in widespread benefits for American workers and the United States’ lowest unemployment rate in 50 years. But tightening labor markets are shining a spotlight on demographic challenges that could threaten continued growth and shared prosperity in the future .
Increasing participation in the labor force:

  • Expand and increase the Earned Income Tax Credit for adults without qualifying children in order to incentivize more people to enter the labor force and remain working
  • Lessen barriers to participation through improved employee-employer matching and increased mobility
  • Help parents remain connected to the workforce and meet family responsibilities
  • Support older workers who wish to remain working
Thank you to the Delaware Prosperity Partnership team
"Delaware Prosperity Partnership is so grateful for the tremendous assistance the Chamber has provided to get the DPP under way successfully. How better to express our appreciation than through the gift of an iconic Delaware image ... that just happens to be in the DPP brand colors?" - Kurt Foreman, President & CEO
