TEACHING IS READY
Many in the past have tried to change what God has established or what He has commanded them to do.

We find in the Bible examples of men that God called and anointed to serve Him, but some of them failed.

Let's see Jeroboam as an example.

In 1 Kings chapter 11, the prophet Ahijah met Jeroboam with a prophetic declaration (God’s will for Him)

1 Kings 11:29-3929 Now it happened at that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite met him on the way; and he had clothed himself with a new garment, and the two were alone in the field. 30 Then Ahijah took hold of the new garment that was on him, and tore it into twelve pieces. 31 And he said to Jeroboam, “Take for yourself ten pieces, for thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: ‘Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and will give ten tribes to you 32 (but he shall have one tribe for the sake of My servant David, and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel), 33 because they have forsaken Me, and worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the people of Ammon, and have not walked in My ways to do what is right in My eyes and keep My statutes and My judgments, as did his father David. 34 However I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, because I have made him ruler all the days of his life for the sake of My servant David, whom I chose because he kept My commandments and My statutes. 35 But I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand and give it to you—ten tribes. 36 And to his son I will give one tribe, that My servant David may always have a lamp before Me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for Myself, to put My name there. 37 So I will take you, and you shall reign over all your heart desires, and you shall be king over Israel. 38 Then it shall be, if you heed all that I command you, walk in My ways, and do what is right in My sight, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as My servant David did, then I will be with you and build for you an enduring house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to you. 39 And I will afflict the descendants of David because of this, but not forever.’ ”

We see clear instructions that were given to Jeroboam. Let’s see if he followed the instructions.

Read 1 Kings 12:25-33 and 1 Kings 13:1-9.

Instead of trusting the Lord to establish his reign as promised in 1 King 11:38-39, Jeroboam become fearful that he would lose the people and resorted to methods of sinful manipulations. He set up new worship centers, ordained his own priesthood, started new festivals as a counterfeit of what God had already established. He made calves of gold and placed one at Bethel and the other at Dan, so that the people would have places of worship and not return to Jerusalem.

This man disregarded what the Lord spoke to him in 1 King 11:37-38.

God sent a man with a word for Jeroboam. However, Jeroboam became angry with the man God sent and ordered to arrest him. When that did not work, he tried to bribe the man of God. Jeroboam did not repent; he led the people of God astray. We can see here that Jeroboam did not do as God commanded him to do.

We see that in this time, many that the Lord has called have changed the vision that the Lord has given them. Some have replaced the vision with programs, all kinds of activities and have been occupied with building buildings, acquiring all kinds of material things, instead of building the Kingdom of God. At the same time, they have appointed their own prophets to say what they want them to say and hear. They have become like Jeroboam, prideful and they have forgotten the Lord who called them.

The Lord by His mercy and grace has sent them men and women to ask them about the vision that He once gave them. They have replaced God’s vision for their own vision and desires. God is calling those to repent for leading the people astray.

Jeremiah 50:6
My people have been lost sheep.
Their shepherds have led them astray;
They have turned them away on the mountains.
They have gone from mountain to hill;
They have forgotten their resting place.

It did not go well with Jeroboam; it will not go well with anyone who disregards God’s will for them. Hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying. "There is no time to waste, be humble, do God’s will and only His will."
