Updated Liturgical Guidance for Worship
Beginning with the Sunday Masses of June 6, 2021:
1. FOLLOWING PUBLIC HEALTH GUIDELINES
There is no mask mandate for our archdiocese's churches after the statewide mandate is lifted.
As previously announced, seating capacity in churches can return to full,
subject only to local health departments' restrictions.
One section of pews remains designated for social distancing.
At St. Thomas More these pews are
in the Blessed Mother's chapel and in front of the lector's ambo.
2. LETTER FROM OHIO BISHOPS
to attend Sunday and Holy Day Mass
for the the Cincinnati Archdiocese's faithful .
As always, those having a serious reason are exempt
from this obligation (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2181).
This includes those who are ill OR have significant health risk factors,
care for someone who is immuno-compromised or ill,
or have a significant concern of contracting the coronavirus from a large group.
These persons should still observe the Lord’s Day!
They can view a broadcasted Sunday Mass from area churches or
from around the world.
These are not a substitute for Mass for those who can attend!
They do not fulfill the obligation, but are a way to partially feed
the soul of those who have a reason to be exempted from the obligation.
