DOC Investigation Results in Employee Arrest at Louisiana State Penitentiary
West Feliciana Deputies Book Former DOC Employee
BATON ROUGE, La. – A Louisiana State Penitentiary investigation intercepted an attempt to smuggle contraband by a corrections cadet at the prison. West Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Deputies booked 49-year-old Diodelda Anderson of 10 Babin Lane, Natchez, Mississippi on a a charge of Malfeasance in Office Thursday night.

During a search of Anderson's vehicle Thursday evening, prison investigators found 17.4 grams of marijuana, 6.6 ounces synthetic cannabinoid, three cellphones, three cellphone chargers, two cellphone batteries, three packs of Bugler tobacco, a 13 ounce bag of tobacco, rolling papers, and five cigarette lighters.

West Feliciana Parish Deputies booked Anderson with introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution, and one count of Malfeasance in Office.

Anderson had been employed at Louisiana State Penitentiary since May 20, 2019. She held the rank of cadet, and resigned during the investigation.
